Visual showing the new forms of connection throughout the site breaking the barriers of the site

Strategic masterplan showing the networks and connections throughout the site
ROYAL DOCKS LONDON
This group project was set in the Royal Docks in London. A heavily industrial site during the past century, which is currently transitioning into a combination of residential, business and recreation area as new developments are being built. However the site is very fragmented with a lot of phyisical and social barriers, creating a lack of unity.
Our proposal’s aim was to break these barriers through networks. Creating a landscape matrix made out of a combination
of sofscape and hardscape which would be cohesive throughout the site, being a framework that would unify this fragmented landscape.
These networks would also improve the connectivity north to south of the site and with the surrounding communities. It would bring people living in the existing developments, which lack public space, towards the water edges; and would act as the main catalyst for the regeneration of the site.
