EXPLANATION

In his essay Terra Fluxus within The Landscape Urbanism Reader, Corner reflects on how one of the most relevant potentials of landscape urbanism is ts flexibility to adapt to different scales and urban fabrics, and integrate environmental processes and urban form.

REFLECTION

When designing in urban environments, as designers, we have to be aware that as an element of both the landscape and the city it should work with the dynamics of both. There are two main aspects in which this should be considered: adapting to the urban conditions and evolving with them.
These landscape amatures or frameworks should not be the same all along, but change along the whole structure adapting to the urban fabric of each area or neighborhood. Urban fabric not only refers to the physical layout of the neighborhood, but the overlay of this, the socio-economic conditions, the local needs, the geography etc. This means understanding each of the areas the armature goes through and adapt to the different needs and issues, thus these landscape structures will not only provide recreation, but also will also mitigate risks and provide support for the development of these communities.
